Fuel Leak Part2 !

Okay - managed to get the bike up the hill, and have just removed the tank - the leak is coming from behind the white quick release plastic nut.
Whats the best way to get this blighter out - i dont want to make things any worse?
I have attempted to attach a jpeg of the culprit.

Cheers

After the experience I had with mine, remove the tank, drain the rest of the gas. Remove the service plate, put a wrench on the "culprit" and break it off, drill and tap out the remainder for 1/4" pipe thread. Remove the filter, remove the regulator, and blow the lines out to make sure no pieces of plastic get to the pump. Might as well replace the filter since you're there. No problem re using the gasket.
If the "culprit" comes out freely using a wrench, go buy a lottery ticket!

Thumbs up

This one breaks all the time!!!

Replace with metal both fittings.....only one was replaced by the Triumph recall (and it's NOT this one!!!) from Tom Parker UK, Colder Products or a complete ( fairly pricey) kit from Ride Team Triumph US....

being ....

lazy

in the US

I opted for the last one, but if you search on here or TriumphTorque.com for TomParker/Colder products/Fuel connector you should get some appropriate # numbers......

Thumbs up

Thanks for the advice guys
It sheared flush with the plate and what a pain in the *ss it was to get the rest out - omg!
After a MarioKart stlye dash up the M6 to Stoke i got a replacement (still plastic - but due to time restrictions/work - it was the only option)
After a nerve racking tightening of the new part - connected it all up - no leak - just returned from work , so its done 60 miles and alls good - job done

Thanks again

Hopefully you were very careful with the hose routing!

IMHO, it is when the drain hoses find themselves outside of the return fuel hose when the tank is installed that causes the breakage in the first place.

There is not enough room between the fuel fitting and the frame for those hoses, so they put a good amount of pressure on the fuel fitting, causing the female to break.

Good luck!
