Here is the problem. After a few thousand miles I notice all the little grooves start to disappear. After 7000 miles they are all gone. This is very disturbing. Any solutions?

Also there is button on the left side with what looks like a trumpet. When I push it the bike makes a strange noise. What's up with that?

That trumpet always make me think of the film I watched in my youth, when Oliver Hardy cried “horn, horn” every time a honk was heard.

Very funny, I can recommend it:

Saps at Sea
Released by United Artists, 3 May 1940 - 57 minutes
Producer: Hal Roach
Director: Gordon Douglas
Cast: Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Rychard Cramer, Charlie Hall, James Finlayson, Ben Turpin
Mr. Hardy's nerves are frazzled due to his job in a horn factory.

Oh yes,
this business of the groove thingys in tyres dissapearing is an oldy. Listen carefully and you will learn.

First, try putting your machine on paddock stands (you can obtain these from your local farmer) and leaving it there as long as possible. This help prevents the grooves from dissapearing so quickly.

Secondly buy a tyre that doesn't have any grooves, this is called a "slick" because it so diabolically clever that you don't have to worry about the grooves dissapearing at all. :-D

The button with the horn picture is actually a Trumpy emblem and is used to identify your machine as a Triumph brand.
Other brands apparently have their own tone.

You can push this button in a crowd of motorcyclists to identify and locate other Triumph riders more easily. :-D

Good luck, I hope this has been a very informative posting!

I noticed this weekend that stuff I poured into the motor was goldish. Now, 3000 miles latter it is dark brown. I let some out and poured all over the floor. I stepped in it and fell on my a$$ ( can't used bad words here, too many children).

Found the coolest thing. The red button on the left makes the yellow ALL four yellow lights flash. COOOOOOL!

Glad to see there are some other lite hearted people here. I get frustrated with:
I just bought a Sprint

is Triumph oil worth it

what tires should I buy

My dealer sucks

SHUT UP AND RIDE IT!

Why does everyone always tell me to keep the rubber side down. It sure is hard on my sneakers. I keep wearing them out when I ride my Sprint. My feet get hot too!

Wot you mean lite hearted? I was serious! :hammer:

Tires,
seriously if you want something really sporty but maybe not so economical Michelin Pilot Powers or Pirelli Diablo Super Corsa ( I think thats wot it is).

A more economical round black thingo frequently raved about by those here more sane than myself are the Metzler Z6 or the Avon Azaro St 45/46's. Both I are very good for grip and wear etc. at reasonable $$.

Mr Dolson our fearless moderator likes the Z6 says they are great.

Getting back to one of the main topics here. I have the Conti Road Attacks, and am happy with them. A good alternative, that for me, has good wear characteristics. IMO, they are much, much better than the stock BT57s my Sprint came with.

Oh yea, YMMV, but I got 10.6k miles before the grooves in my tires started getting those funny little bars in them.

Tom
