Don,

I stumbled upon this link coincidentally while looking for oil filter information for my ST:

To all,

Every once in awhile we do get into a stimulating conversion which is very good for all of us. It gives us a chance to find information and learn especially so when there is some passion involved.

This medium of communication is a wonderful tool. Look at the people we can "visit" with now from all corners of the globe because we all share something and we can become friends. 10-12 years ago we couldn't have done this.

The one thing that is difficult at least for me is to properly articulate myself in writing and wanted all to know that anything that I've said was not in a mean spirited vein nor ment to belittle anyone. But after visiting several other sites I've seen that a lot of knowledge comes down and becomes more on the lines of urban legends than factual help.

I would like to keep that from happening here. I should start another thread airing my thoughts on this but this is as good of one as any.

The more facts that we can direct others to is great.
If you try something let us know what led you to this and what research you did to decided upon this course of action. then the results. If it's just a seat of the pants feeling that's fine too. I think it would be interesting to try this and see where it goes rather than relying on the old legends. Do see where I'm thinking and any ideas?

Even if it's a ****! I just gotta have it kind of thing let us know how it goes.

Actually the SCCA thing was a Austin Healey 3000.

Don

Yerguy.
I hope you are pleased with the excellent information that a few of the 1% guys gave you about air-filtration.
You have not had much advice concerning your question about plastic fuel line fittings. There have been a lot of problems with these breaking; they are rubbish.
You don't have to buy the expensive kit; you can source the parts individually.

Just for clarification, I based my input on the K&N's on the length of time that I have been immersed in the Hi-perf world and because of that immersion my monitoring, reading, sometimes frothing at the mouth reading of most of the Hi-Perf and mechanically oriented publications out there. Since I have never scientifically tested K&N's I was expressing that I have never seen a test result that negatively compared an "oiled media" hi-perf filter to a paper oem or aftermarket filter. I am more than happy to save some bucks and use the cheap stuff if it can be shown to provide comparable results. So please, help me save money!!

YERGUY:
Let me know when your coming up to BMS. Maybe we can hook up and do the ride in reverse from Ojai?
Let me know.
