Being unable to part with the required money for the purchase of the Triumph hard panniers, I have bought some Oxford soft luggage. I would like to make a mount system for them, and from what I can see, the Triumph mounts look quite nice. Would anyone know of pictures on the net, that shows details of the Triumph side rail mountings. Or any other photos that may be of assistance.
TIA

I wonder why you need a 'mount'? I fitted my Oxford throwovers last night as a try out for the weekend, and they sit better on the ST than they did on any of the other bikes I've had. Hooked to rear footrest hanger and around the back of the bike to each other, they're stable and comfortable for my passenger.

I'm going on a ~7000 mile trip. For safety the bags will have to be removed every night. If I follow Oxford's fitting instructions, that means removing the seat. I don't want to do that as a daily chore.

Funny you should ask this question as I was about to ask exactly the same thing, but for a slightly different reason. I have just fitted the pannier rails to my 01 Sprint but I think that I may have mounted them slightly "incorrectly". The panniers are hard to slide on and off, it's hard to get the pannier "over" the rails and the recesses (on the pannier) for the indicators and the indicators themselves don't' quite line up such that the indicators have to flex. By co-incidence I ended up at the lights yesterday behind another ST with panniers fitted and his seemed to sit a few inches lower. I think it may be down to the fitting and orientation of the replacement indicator brackets. I can't see how else they can be fitted or aligned, but that is where you lot come in.. Admittedly I did muddle up the left and right ones for a while (I detached them both from the rails before fitting and forgot which was which and it is one of the only phases that doesn't carry a picture in the instructions). As such I was going to ask if anyone out there would be kind enough to post a picture or two of their rails so that I can compare and contrast. I have posted images of my rails for you to see. If anyone spots anything obvious please do let me know..

p.s. am going to post this as a new post since it related to an '01 Sprint and as such it may not attract as much attention under the '05 subject of this one..
