Congrats on your SS1k. I did an unofficial one in '03 coming back from Taos, NM. I hate the paperwork so I'll probably never get an official one :lollol: I was pretty worn out too, but mainly because I did it straight through, no real stops beyond fuel, and meal stops.
I'm running a Sargent refoamed seat, Triumph heated grips, Throttlemeister, OEM hardbags, Daytona 1 piece shifter, and I should have been using the Zero Gravity Sport Touring shield. I find the bars are perfect for me. But I learned a long time ago to support the body with your torso muscles and not lean on the hands for support. I'm betting that's what your doing. Try and lighten up on the bars a bit and some of that pain might go away. 54k miles on my '02 and I still love to ride it. (another gratuitous praise post
