I am trying to choose between the standard RS & the SSSA model, and was wondering if anyone knows of any official info or reviews of the SSSA model.

The price difference is ony $500 Australian.

I'd go with the SSSA one just on looks and rarity. Saw one at the IMS bike show in Cleveland last weekend. VERY NICE...

I may be biased as I have one, but I'd go for the SSSA model, the difference in price doesn't sound a lot and you'd probably get most of that back at resale.

Is the bike you're looking at an 04 model, I've seen a few 03 models with the SSSA, my 04 has the belly pan as standard and the dog leg clutch lever that a number of riders appear to have retro fitted.

04 models are Black, Caspian Blue and British Racing Green and listed as Special Edition in the Price List.

I bought an 04 RS and have about 1 mile on it, from the dealer to the garage. It looks exactly like my 02 ST except for the obvious. Someone, somewhere, don't rember exactly, incinuated that the RS might have different front end specs. All I saw was shorter bars but it did feel different than the ST. Any insight on that?

The 04 RS (with the SSSA) is essentially the ST with different fairing, clocks, and bars. With the SSSA version you get the ST suspension, which is better than the older version RS. The RS and the ST were so close before the differences are small. The suspension on the old RS was not as good as the ST both front and rear. It didn't have as much adjustment, etc. The older RS is lighter and the std. swingarm is lighter as well, so if that's a concern...

Personally, I'd go with the 04 as it will indeed be a rarity, but without the usual rarity issues (ie. parts) since nearly everything on the bike can be fixed using ST part numbers. Good stuff.
