Any of you new ST1050 owners used to have a 955. Can you give us a comparo.
I sat on a 1050 the other day and it looks and feels a little more Sports than my '00 955. What's the 1050 like on a trip compared to the 955. Any of you guys have a permanent pillion. What do they think of the step seat.
I will get round to test riding the 1050 but its brrrrrrrr cold down here right now. Am thinking of upgrading and ask myself do I wanna spend another (A)$6000 (yep. that's right!) on an FJR cos Triumph are sliding to the Duc and VFR800 end of the (sports/touring) spectrum.
I currently have a 2004 ST. I had a brief ride on the 2005 model a month ago. I was surprised to find that the reach for the bars on the new one was less than on my 2004 model. I have the Gen Mar risers on mine and it is still more of a reach for me than on the new one.
The best thing you can do is wait until you have a ride on one and make up you own mind.
