1050 sprint To buy or not to buy

What do you guys think, A friend of mine is selling his 05 sprint with luggage for 6300.00. only 9k on it all stock excellent cond. in my eyes. Don't know if I want to buy another bike this close to winter sports time but know I want one next year and hate to pass up this great machine.

Seems like a fair price, but it's not such a steal that you'll never see another deal like that again. IMO, of course.

I generally try to split the difference between trade in and retail, and I'm not even that motivated or innately good at driving a hard bargain. And in a slow market like this one you could possibly do better than that if you're willing to take your time.

Take it for a test ride to your local dealer, get the mechanic to look over it and ask them what they would sell it for on the lot. Dealer price should be about 1 to 2 grand dearer than a private sale as they would offer a waranty and have to pay wages. But they should be able to give you a good idea.

That is probably in line for that year and mileage. Mine was about 1k more but was an 07 with 4k miles and had a Zumo, soft and hard luggage, hugger and several other smaller upgrades. I thought my deal was good but not great after shopping around for a couple months. You can probably find a similar bike next year for the same price is what I am saying. If you trust that it has been well taken care of and won't get pissed at your friend if something goes south on the bike, then that might be a good reason to jump on it.
