Very Good Triumph sales in UK

Just been looking at the UK bike sales data for this year.

Cant believe how well Triumph are doing. UK bike sales are down an overall 14% year to date. But Triumph are up big time.

Works out that Triumph have sold 4370 bikes year to date (not including sales in July) compared with 3471 for same period in 2008. That’s better than 25% extra sales.

Triumph have also over taken Kawasaki as the 4th biggest in UK!!!

Wonder how sales are elsewhere in World?

Got stats here http://www.mcia.co.uk/Press/IndustryFigures.aspx

The figures are even better when you think that Triumph only operate in one sector of the market, i.e. no scooters, off road, less that 675cc etc. Understand that in June 09, in the "over 500cc sector" , whilst 3rd behind Honda and Suzuki, Triumph sold only a handful less that these two and were way ahead of Yamaha, BMW, Harley and Kawasaki.

Seems they offer a bike in every catagory except off road.

I think its good to offer an alternative to Japan with less cost than any other European manufacturer.

Also the rep of having a quality product doesn't hurt.

I hope they don't sell too many in the USA. I sure don't want to own the same thing that everybody else has! ::

Pretty good in Oz to

Down here (and probably quite a bit to your left!) they're runnning 7th in the tables for figures until June

The big four Japanese are all ahead but the Honday CT110 postie and learner bikes could be a contributing factor. HD and KTM are next.

Basically it's a very positive view for Big T with only two dealers in Perth, they've still sold 40 TBirds.

I'm glad they're doing so well in the UK. Maybe that explains why it's been six weeks and I STILL don't have my replacement clutch lever. Maybe I shoulda bought Japanese. Then I probably could have gone to Schuck's and gotten a lever.

Did you try BikeBandit? They have been pretty good on a wide range of bike parts and products.
