Wheels

All this suspension stuff and no one has mentioned wheels, has anyone fitted carbon wheels to change how the bike works?.

I dont know much bout this but interested:

Huge cost for CF wheels

FWIW in my opinion they are so expensive and prone to serious damage from pot holes etc.

that if you are that concerned with saving weight for performance or handling you would be better off with a lighter sports bike.

I probably said something like that here before too

Additionally, damage to a carbon fiber wheel may not be visible to the naked eye until the wheel fails -- quite possibly catastrophically.

Given this, they seem (to me anyway) outrageously expensive for street use, and the track as well unless you're competing at a very high level or have sponsors footing the bill.

But opinions seem to be unanimous that reducing unsprung mass a few pounds or kilograms greatly improves handling (though possibly at the expense of gyroscopic stability).

My $.02.
