Clutch spring broke, cutting out, oil mix question

So I went for a ride yesterday, pre ride inspection I noticed the return spring on the clutch lifter arm by the housing was broken. I tired to fix it but I can't get it right so I left it alone. Being as it appears to be a $5 part so I'd like to replace it. Problem is I cant see how I'd pull the lifter arm with out pulling the entire cover off. So is it possible to do this or will the cover need to be removed? I should note that I have an oil weep at the same spot so I would like to fix that as well but major tear down isn't something I want to do with riding weather so nice right now.

Also it cut out twice while pulling the clutch in and slowing, not sure why but the oil light came on and only the oil light. Its never done this before but I was about 1/2 quart low on oil.

Which brings me to my last question. The Motorcycle shop is closed on sunday so I can't get a quart of my choice which is Motol 15w50 so I went to autozone and got a quart of Mobil 1 15w50. If I add this will it be bad? I'm dew for a change in about 1k miles so it wouldn't be in long but if I should wait i will.
Thanks
tom

In reverse order.

Should be no problem mixing the oils. By somebodies decree, all oils should be miscible. (Fancy word meaning they will work OK together.)

Oil light shouldn't come on at just 1/2 quart low, I've been lower than that on my '08 back in its early life. It doesn't use any oil now.

Yes, you will have to pull the clutch cover to remove the shaft. You may need a seal or O-ring to fit it back together, along with a new gasket. It really is a simple job involving little more than unscrewing all the cap screws and maybe a tap with a soft hammer.

A couple of hints.
If you do the job on the side stand, you will hardly lose any oil.
When fitting the new gasket, glue it to the cover using some form of gasket seal (Yamaha or Honda both make some nice stuff) then grease the face of the gasket before putting the cover back on. Next time you have to pull it, you won't damage the gasket and can actually reuse it.

Yep cover has to come off. There is a Spirol Pin on the inside of the cover as well as a bearing and a dust seal.

bummer. Well maybe next weekend if the weather sucks

To be clear the light didn't come on till after it stalled. Like if you start it in gear then kick the side stand down, but in that instance you'll get a few lights to come on. thats what was kinda odd, I just had the one light. But it does run perfect otherwise

"Also it cut out twice while pulling the clutch in and slowing"

My 2002 Rs did that a few years ago( while still under warranty) ecm was reflashed and throttle position sensor adjusted . been fine since. I also recall some vacuum valve (somthing Lifter) could cause the same problem in the older bikes
