Sprint 1050 Upgrades And Modifications

Tell everyone about your upgrades.
I have my new sprint and have a few ideas so far from other threads, such as 18tooth front sprocket suggested by many, rear huggers from JackLilley http://www.jacklilley.com/view_part....4&part_id=4367 thanks to elevens, and Jesters http://www.jesterstrickbits.co.uk/ac...riumphHug.html thanks to youngy
I'm also wondering about aftermarket silencers. I've looked at Trident, IXIL, D&D and TwoBrothers. Has anyone seen more than one of these other than on youtube to compare sound and appearance, as my laptop speakers don't do the cans on youtube any justice. I'm also wondering about screens. Is anyone aware of any aftermarket screens, I'm hoping to get something with a mirror appearance. If you've done anything else to your 1050 sprint, or can suggest anything that would look, sound, or feel good; improve handeling, power or anything else on the bike, let me know (pictures would be great). So brag to everyone about what you've done or tell us your plans for your 1050sprint. What's the longest trip you've been on, and what problems did you encounter?
This is what I have so far

Welcome to the club mate!

With an 09 model with luggage, you are 99% there already!

I have an 06 and have been know to ride more long distance than sporty fast stuff. I'm in graduate school this summer, so more computer time than bike time.

I have the Mikes grill on the rads. http://mikesgrilles.com/

Some elect to fabricate their own.

I would do a search on the aftermarket pipes, there are dozens of posts with tons of info. Getting rid of/replacing the stock can/muffler will lessen much of the under-seat heat effect.

There is a lot of mods covered throughout this group. You've made a great choice in the Triumph Sprint.

Enjoy your honeymoon with your new ride.

What a stunningly beautiful bike! I'm such a sucker for black. Congratulations and welcome to the RAT-fold.

Check out Powerbronze screens. They're widely available and come in a staggering choice of colors. I use the Powerbronze double bubble in light smoke color and it works and looks great IMO. I think the stock screen looks the best, but it tends to direct the wind to the helmet. I tried the Triumph Aero screen and it was excellent but not to my liking appearance-wise.

Do you do much two-up riding? I recently added an intercom (Starcom1 Advance). Music, phone, and Bitchin' Betty NAV instructions via the Zumo 550, plus the intercom adds another dimension to biking that I've never known. To my delight, my wife will now very frequently say "Let's go for a motorcycle ride". Ahhh, hell yea!

Have fun with your new sprint, and please post more pics!

Thanks guys,
I had a look at Mikes Grills, I like the idea of the gold looking radiator guard. Might look into that a bit further. I think a gold colour would look good, either that or chrome/polished aluminium to match the other bling on the bike from the factory. I think if I get the mirror finnish screen then the chrome would look better, what do you guys think
I had a look at Powerbronze. I think the silver iridium screen would be the colour I'm after, but they don't have any picks of the screen on a sprint, so I'll have to look into that a bit further. I wonder if the iridium screens are translucent or solid. The prices are definately better at Powerbronze than anywhere else I have seen, just a matter of seeing the product. The do rear huggers, and are cheaper than the other ones from the UK that I mentioned above, however they are pretty bulky. I think it was youngy said he had the same problem with finding a hugger that didn't look like the back end of a whale.

I don't do much two up riding. If the missus comes along, that normally means the kids are following closely by, so the bike is just for me, and the handbrake belongs in the car.

I'm looking forward to the next Sydney bike show. Hopefully there will be some silencer demos there to help me make up my mind.

Anyways, keep the ideas flowing. Thanks guys

I have a long list of mods on my site at various levels of completion. Most of my mods are more comfort, convenience and touring based. Pics are coming soon. Just follow the link in my sig.

One of my favorite on my list is the G2 Throttle Tamer. Haven't gotten it on the Sprint yet, but had it on my last two bikes and loved it. It is basically a progressive throttle for fuel injected bikes. It removes a lot of the touchiness early in the throttle which in turn makes start/stop type riding (traffic and such) more comfy and less jerky.
