Good wood Festival of Speed - Biking Legends

Just wanted to share this with folks that would appreciate this (the friends I was with just looked blankly at me!)

Last year I went to Goodwood Festival of speed for the first time.

Some petrol head lord opens up his estate to all types of vehicle F1, WSB etc and I bumped into John Reynolds. Having nothing to sign and nothing to write with, I borrowed some guy's Sharpie pen and got him to sign my Triumph T-Shirt.

Wind the clock forward to today and with a sharpie and last year's T-shirt in the bum bag I set off prepared. I met Makoto Tamada on a ZX10, then Mick Doohan , and finally Phil Read . So how many championships at the top level is that. All signed the shirt and commented on the Triumph!

Now if I could only find Vale......

Good work Rexxy - I can see why you're like a dog with two tails. Lucky it wasn't a black Tshirt!

... thanks Rexx - thats a keeper

I share your pain - a couple of years ago I got up close to a Britten (ran my hands over it) at a classic bike race meet and spoke with Andrew Stroud who rode it at Daytona in the mid 90s.

When I got home with my photos my wife thought it looked like a 'nice' motorbike - she had no idea

Very nice Rexx

except I would like my shirt back now please!

Grant I saw and touched the Britten at Pukekohe race track at a classic race meet about 2003. I also got up close with the V8 MotoGuzzi and it's famous pilot (forgotten who now) now that sounded very nice once they got it going properly.

A bit off topic perhaps, but for the F One fans, this site has some fantastic photos of many of the historic cars in F One:
