If its the same as goop, the tire changing guy will totally hate you. Unless you are riding off across the desert where help would be unlikely, I'd stick with plug kit, a C02 inflator, and a cell phone.

I was in the motor industry for around 10 years and involved in second gross products, (finance, Insurance, warranties and the like) and looked at a number of these products. I also tried a few of them in my vehicles and found them to be a balancing nightmare. Because they are liquid they pool at the bottom of the tyre when stationary and then the theory is they distribute themselves once the tyre starts rotating. Wrong, they don't do it properly and as a consequence I had a constant balancing problem. The product also creates a centrifugal effect when cornering which is very disconcerting. I would never try it in a road bike that is capable of very high speeds. I think it would work well in an offroad bike that is more likely to get punctures in the bush. Agree keep a repair kit and mini CO2 canisters.

Yep it looks like something you'd want if you were doing some serious boondocks adventure riding but even their specs state that it can cause vibration for up to five miles before the stuff warms up.

This is thread is a bit old, but I thought I would chime in as this stuff does have its uses. Ride On is not like the crap that came before it. It doesn't rust rims, it does clean up fairly easily, installs easily, it does auto balance, doesn't clog stems and most importantly in my experience it does work.

The balancing takes a minute or so from a stop to start working and you will want to remove any extra balancing weights to get the full benefit. Before it starts working the front end will feel a bit sluggish (at least to me) but once it spreads out feels smooth as glass like the absolute best alignment/balancing you probably have ever experienced. If you have a tire guy that knows how to balance a tire (which is becoming harder to find), you probably won't find this useful. However, many bikes suffer from strange "harmonic" balancing problems that present at a certain speed and this stuff being self adjusting handles that.

Clean up is really easy as you only need to wash this stuff out with water. It is still messy and you will want to tell your tire guy about the stuff or you will probably piss him off when he goes to change the tire. If he knows ahead of time, I haven't found it to be an issue.

Installation is simple. You can either remove the tire and put it in which is the fastest or you can remove the stems and pump it in. That second takes quite a bit longer, but is an easy DIY for even the most incapable DIYer.

I run this stuff in my truck all the time as I tend to get a lot of flats taking it in some of the places we go. Since putting it in, I haven't gone flat yet and my last tire change found about three punctures this stuff sealed. Ride On doesn't work very well with tubes so I stopped running it in my dirt bikes. My Versys had a very strange balancing problem the dealer could never get sorted and this stuff corrected the balancing issue completely.

I wouldn't say it is perfect and it certainly isn't for everyone but if it is something that could work for you judge it on its merits and not the horrible rep of other crappy products.
