Newbie questions

Have been riding for 30yrs and owned about every brand motorcycle made EXCEPT Triumph. I just got a Black 2007 Sprint ST ABS that was wrecked and am trying to gather all the plastic and pieces to make it a whole bike again. Also looking for decent mods for comfort. Can't seem to find any place on the web to buy stuff other than eBay. Is there a place that carry's Sprint stuff ?? Bar ends, windshield, plastic, exhaust, etc. ???

I have been a member of dozens of bike forums and have to say this is the most "controlled" forum I have seen. It seems everytime I spot a title that interests me the darn post was deleted or moved. As this post will probably be. Saw one this morning on some peg installations and was going to ask where to get them and noticed the post also asked to please leave the post for a while. What the heck ??? It is difficult to get information when the posts are constantly being moved or deleted. My very first post was removed because I was looking for parts and I guess it was not in the correct section. How many people actually look in the wanted section very often?? Anyway.... just a newbies observation, makes finding stuff, or asking questions take a long time and very cumbersome.

..... welcome from NZ jmurphy - it will help with the advice if you let us know where you live.

I havent seen very many threads getting moved around or deleted -however gun and political threads over at Biker Hangout usually end up getting a bit heated and locked down in the end

Parts for 1050s from wrecks are hard to come by in NZ.

JM,

Maybe this will help...clickie, then scroll down and you will see my post to other links regarding MFW pegs.

I would disagree with you on the "controlled" thing. Really this is a good, friendly group. IMHO

You just need a "local guide" to get started. Feel free to fire away!

Oh, and how's the temp in 'Bama...this is on my deck and in the shade yesterday afternoon!

I am not sure why your post was deleted but if you read this sites AUP and our forum stickies you may find the reason.

Don and I and the administrators here rarely delete threads and occasionally move them to the correct forum or sub forum to make it easier to find information.

To make the comment;
"It seems everytime I spot a title that interests me the darn post was deleted or moved. As this post will probably be."

Is unreasonable and completely untrue.

Iceman and Warden Ross have been here for years and have been regular here, perhaps you aught to listen to their experienced opinion.

You may find it interesting to note that Don and I get many compliments each week form new members finding this site very helpful and user friendly.

Yes we are a bit different and happy to be so.

jmurphy361 please read the forum stickies before you make anymore critical comments.

You are new here why not try to be friendly and not start off on the wrong foot.

Hi JM and welcome to the site, unless you are trolling you appear to be making unsubstantiated statements. It is difficult to see how you can see a post that has been removed from a title, maybe you have been looking at an old post where the original poster has removed a link to pics ?

In addition any post or thread that has been moved from a forum is always left with a link, you just click on the link and you have your original thread in it's new, and more appropriate, location.

Maybe you have been trying to post in the Classifieds which requires a minimum of 30 posts and 30 days membership, this is to build up some credibility and deter scammers.

If there is any particular post or thread you have difficulty with just send me a PM and I'll assist you.

Golly day..... Didn't realize it was offensive, wasn't trying to start off by making enemies that is for sure. Just a newbies observation, didn't think it was harsh or anything. It wasn't meant to be... Never mind the whole thing. Is there a "never mind the whole thing sub- sub- catagory" == A joke ==

No problem JM, but as you've realised we do not allow posting ads for sale or wanted in the forums, we have so many they would totally dominate the chat and tech forums. We have classified forums specially designed for Ads and at the top of this forum is a Sticky which allows members of this forum to point to any particular Ad interest in the Classifieds.

However as a newbie you unfortunately can't take advantage of this for reasons given earlier but we will leave this thread and any member that can help you will no doubt PM you. (Just don't add to it with more wanted details. )

No worries mate,

it is hard to tell stuff on a typed format which is why the smileys can be so helpful, which is also why I added after I said that.

I have just bumped you to the top like Tbirdnz did.

cheers and enjoy the forum
