Question Sprint electrical problem...Help!

2004 RS, 3300 miles, never a problem until today. i turned on key and all the familiar noises and lights came on. then as soon as i pushed the starter everything went dead and i heard a click under seat. took off seat, checked all fuses, o.k. went to the library for the manual and after 30 minutes turned on the key, everything worked again but when i pushed starter, click all was dead. i do not know diddly about electricals, especially these new vehicles. think i will put a meter on the battery to check charge but that is about all i know to do. any help muchly appreciated. when it is low though, the starter clicks and lights work still. no clue.... j

...... most likely a below par battery.

Any idea of the age or condition of it?

Be aware that putting a voltmeter on the battery might show you 12V or better but if it is getting tired that will quickly fall away under load.

A good place to start is charge the battery fully then get it load tested - by an auto electrician or battery shop.

battery is a year old, charged a week ago and again today, shows 12.6 volts. nothing happens when i turn the key on...no clicks, no instruments, fuel pump, nada. j

nevermind.... battery is bad. when i have charger on it i get noise, remove it and nothing. went out to check charger and it was on zero amps. been trying to get out to a bike rally all day, guess i missed it today. maybe this battery has a warranty? thanks, j
