Hi folks,

As I havent seen the new beastie can someone tell us what rubber it is shod with and does it work when pushed hard?

Just a curious young fellow asking the question.

Here in the US they come with Bridgestone BT020's made for the ST. However, I run sport tires, not sport touring tires so I can't really tell you how they work as I switched them to BT014's before taking delivery. The BT014's work great but I'm sure they won't get the mileage of other tires but for where and how I ride, grip is key.

Thanks mate,
I read in a recent Brit mag "Superbike" that the new speed triple with the same 1050 donk as the new ST comes in the UK with Pilot Powers so was just curious.

BT020s on 955 Sprints were standard, with the up of engine capacity to 1050 they still come out wearing BT020s! Maybe it is because they are still using the same wheel size! Why screw with what works?

When did they start putting 020's on the 955's? All the 955's I looked at (02-04) here in the states had BT57's on them... I've never seen an ST with 020's. I guess they could have been standard on the RS...

Yeah, I've never seen a 955 sprint st with anything but 57's. I personally liked the 57's. I like my Z6's more, but didn't have any of the issues others had with their 57's.

Dave, My Canadian 2005 ST came with BT020's. This is my first bike with a whole bunch of HP and modern suspension. So, I can offer no opinions as to how the tires work, other than to say they have done what I've asked of them.

I'm in the UK and had my new ST in April. It came with BT020's. These are excellent tyes with more than enough grip for any road riding not matter how good you think you are ! Now got 2000 miles on the clock and everything with the bike is great.

Ditto several other rider's comments. The 020's work great. Mine have down the Dragon several times and some other roads that make the Dragon look like a Kansas Insterstate and they will more the meet the needs of even the most foolhardy. Don't know about the wear. I have some 020's on my 00'RS and my 02' ST and they seem to go out after 4k rear 6K front.
