I got passed by a 02-04 sprint caspian blue this morning on my way to work on 95-S about 10< miles north of the ft mc henry tunnel. Got a friendly wave and I responded by pointing my finger at his bike, then at mine, then giving a thumbs up. I also so one going north on the other side with hard panier and top bags same color also. Never actually seen another sprint on the road let alone 2 within 30 minutes and in the same color as mine! Was there some top secret Sprint party I wasn't invited to? Anyway just posting to say hi, again!

I don't have a Sprint but I do own Triumph's and live in MD. Drop me an email sometime, maybe we can hook up for a ride or get a drink and yuck it up about Triumph's . I am so desperate for Triumph friends as I am swamped by HD buddies at work!

Most of my riding buddies I have been friends or at least aquainted with while in my drinking and partying phase years ago. I havent seen many in years but now hang out with again because a lot of them have bikes now. There was probably 13 of us, including myself 2 weeks ago. The bikes they have, listed in order of most to least common: 6 GSX-R's (5 x 600cc, 1 x 750cc), 4 Yam. R6's, and 2 Kaw Ninja/Z6R. We picked up about 4 more riders while out and one of us (actually it was me :-) got the idea to race each other. (He he he he). We all went to this business park thats desolate on Sundays and has one really open, straight, and flat strip of road total length of about 1/2 mile before the internal railroad crossing. I have been racing cars there since '97 when I first got my license. Anyway we did the race elimination style and the gixer's all wanted to race each other and after a few races my one buddy who has an R6 with a power commander, k&n, and yoshimura pipe got his turn and beat the gsxr 750 and he chose to call me out. I dont hang around this guy too much because he loves to talk about himself and how great he or the things he owns are. He's always had the nicest car out of all of us, newest clothes, etc.. So finally I got my chance to make his face feel real tight. Anyhow we started off and he beat me on the hole-shot but I caught up to him fairly quickly then shifted into second and started pulling away further past him then all of a sudden it popped down to neutral (happens once in a while under drag racing conditions) I quickly got it back into gear as he came up next to me then before he could continue past I hit it and got a good 2 car lengths ahead of him. I got into third and wound that out past the finish line then slowed to a stop. I got him by a good 2 seconds. I then smoked the remainder of the crew until I came up against a suzuki something (1000cc v-twin looks exatly like a gsxr just different drivetrain and dual exhaust) and he beat me by about 1 second. Anyway good fun and have finally have something faster (and more luxorious) than Mr. "I'm better than you!"

That's why I keep the bags on most of the time. The racerboy types don't think I'm a threat until I blow past them on a curve- on the inside!

That bike was a TL1000R most likely. Sounds like you had fun...
