After riding my bike to work today noticed I smelled a bit of gas. I saw my right inner thigh on my pants was pretty soaked with gasoline. I then found that the gas was leaking about where the front of the seat body meets the back of the tank and is leaking down and leaving stains down the vertical part of the bikes frame. Also noticed the back brake master cylinder looked wet and of course it was gasoline. I heard alot about fuel fittings and recalls etc. but not sure if the above is symptomatic of this recall. All responses appreciated. Thanks!!

I imagine you have a leak at the fuel connector fittings. I can't tell from reading your post if you have had the recall done or not.

Pull the right side panel, turn on the ignition (but don't start the bike) and look for the fuel leak. Be careful, it might be spraying fuel. If it is not leaking with just the ignition on, try starting the bike and again watch and wait for the leak. You need to determine if the leak is coming from the fittings.

If you have not had the recall done, my advice is to take it to the nearest dealer, because you most likely have a cracked plastic fuel fitting.

If you have had the recall done, I might still head back to the dealer, if convenient. Any dealer work should be covered by the dealer for 12 months. They should fix it for you.

If the dealer is not convenient, and you've had the recall done, I'm guessing you either have a torn/compressed o-ring in the fiitting. You can try disconnecting the fitting and re-connecting it. Put a healthy amount of grease on the o-ring before re-connecting, else you might tear it more. If this doesn't work you need a new o-ring for the fitting. Again the best place is the dealer. They should give you a few for free. I tried finding a substitute at NAPA and other places, but none were the exact size of the (metric) o-ring supplied by triumph.

Sounds like your fuel connectors are failing. I would get myself to a Triumph dealer ASAP to have the recall done. When they really go, they will spew a LOT of gas all over the motor when it's running (when the lines are pressurized).

Personally, I would recommend paying for the $85 all metal fuel fitting kit from Team Triumph. The recall only replaces the male halves of the two fuel fittings. The Team Triumph kit replaces the whole mess.

No recall done. What is the likelyhood that the dealer has everything in stock to do it? I guess I could just call. Anyway I did the above mentioned test of seeing the fuel leak and notice a misting effect going on. Cant remember if it did that before it was running and ignition on or the whole thing running but did see a misting effect. Luckily I'm the only one in the office today so nobody is telling me I stink of gasoline. Thanks for the help and I will repost after talking/visiting the dealer and my results. One more piece of info I recently added a 2 bros exhaust and got the offroad tune loaded maybe that somehow effected the fuel pressure and that was straw the broke the camels back. Just speculating. Thanks!!

Ok went to dealer and got the recall performed. Doesn't appear to be leaking anymore but I still see some gas and smell it but that probably just residue from this morning.

I just went to the dealer and got my recall fuel fittings after one of the old one cracked easily. I installed the new ones but noticed that they leak out of the nozzles when they are not connected to the tank. I thought these were self sealing? Are they defective?
