On corbin or sargent seats can I still keep my cowl installed. I'll never be riding two up - my wife refuses to go with me - unless I get a mistress, and she won't let me get one of them either!
I want to keep the look of the bike with the cowl - it looks far sexier.
Also - which is best Corbin or Sargent?

Sounds to me like you need a new wife... (jk)
But I digress... I know the cowl won't fit on the Corbin seat... and I'm pretty sure it won't with the Sargeant either...
I also like the looks with the cowl, and figured I would swap the seats on and off depending on the look I wanted... but I find the corbin so comfortable, the stock seat has never been back on...
Some folks have expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the corbin... I personnally find it to be a great seat... I bought mine when they reduced the price last year... I'm not sure if they raised it again (if they did, I would seriously look at the sargeant... some nice extra features for the price)... but for 1/2 the price of the sargeant I decided to go with corbin... and couldn't be happier... quality, comfort, and price were all within specs...

I had my stock seat reshaped, padded, etc by Sargent which was cheaper than ordering their off the shelve seat.
By doing so I was able to keep the fasteners for the seat cowl intact.

Corbin, Sargent, and the Triumph gel seat Will not allow the seat cowl.
I just ordered the Sargent. $382 with the shipping. We'll see if it's any good. Had the Triumph gel seat. Didn't like it too much. Didn't feel any better or worse than the stock seat. Oh well....
You should try to get your wife on the bike. Mine was really scared of them at first. Then she warmed up to it, figured out how to lean, and started to relax. started taking her on very short rides in the neighborhood. Just so she could get used to the back. The trips started to get longer and longer. That's the reason I traded the Daytona in for the Sprint.
Now we ride almost every nice weekend, and take a little motorcycle vacation once a year. This year we are going down the eastern seaboard.
Good luck on the seat. I'll let you know if the Sargent is any good. At least they have a 30 day money back guaranty.

I went with the sargent. I bought a corbin for my monster a few years back. It's heavy and of poor quality. The sargent is awsome.

I have a Sargent on my Sprint, and it does allow the use of a cowl. I told them when I ordered it what I was looking for mainly ability to reach the ground better, all day comfort and ability to use a cowl.
I had a coupon (off thier website) that entitled me to a 25% discount.
I can say without a doubt that this is a fantastic seat. I have ridden mine for about 6000 miles now and it is like a good glove for my butt.
I have owned many Corbins and have one on my F650 at this time. While they are not the best seat they are better then stock.
