I ordered my 03 with a Triumph carbon can last year. It started leaking around the front and discoloring the carbon fiber. I had it replaced under warrenty but the second one is doing the same thing. Anyone else have this issue with the Triumph Carbon cans? :hammer:

Whoa.....
I've read of this very thing a couple times before about the Triumph CF can!
And then YOU post of having gone through a couple of 'em!?!?!?!

That does it;
though sexy looking as they may be, the factory "off road" CF can is outa the question for me! I don't wanna take the chance. (it is pretty handsome though...)

Have had no problems. Mine's tight as a drum. I think you just got a run of bad luck. Seems to me that leaky CF cans are an exception, rather than a rule.

There are other manufacturers of fine quality. Might be worth a look. I recently had mine off the bike, and noticed the darn thing must weight 30 pounds!

I put the Triumph carbon can on 11000 miles ago, it started leaking from the front seam after about 7000 miles service, dealer would not warranty, doesn't affect anything but looks and having to clean extra surfaces. Definately looking at Akropovic next time. Might could drool some Devcon epoxy around the seam and let it set up or use high temp duct tape for the real racer look..(kidding) Our cans were obviously mfg.ed the day after a good football game....

Mine leaked too. The dealer told me a lot of them do that and it might take a couple of replacements before we got a tight one. I said not thanks and took an exchange for the SSL one. The SSL one is welded all the way around. It can't leak.

I have a CF one that isn't leaking after 10k miles (knock on wood). Mine was used when I got it. I came off of a Sprint donor bike. But it works great... If I was going to buy new, then I would probably go with the SS.
