My nearest ealer is trying totellme thatb my '00 RS will take longer to warm up now , not because it was in an accident, but because it's got 40,000 miles on it.

Hinds Motorsports, in Columbus. The first time they had it they didn't recognize that it was idling 1,000 rpm too high, nor that one of the low beams was out, they actually told me they thought it came that way.

Hi cyclebob,
like everything there is good and bad eh? I'd go to a different dealer.

Those guys sound like they are a sleep or got their pants caught on the last fence post!

Good luck. I'm sure the locals on here will be able to help.

Airsick, why did you "figure as much"? They still couldn't get it right this time, but I can't take any more incompetance. I think they were seeing that they shouold have totaled the bike, but having invested so much into it they try to cover or ignore their oversites.
I guess I'm spoiled. With my former dealer ( sadly BMW, and not able to do this bike) I never heard such a thing, and to not even acknowledge with an apology, after driving over 700 miles on their assurance it was ready, I'm just going elsewhere to finalize things.
The lesson is, IF YOU'RE A RIDER, AVOID HINDS MOTORSPORTS, COLUMBUS, OHIO!!

Before I bought my Sprint I owned an Aprilia. I ordered parts from them 3 times and each time it was left up to me to call them to see if they were in (they wouldn't call). Then when I called they always said the same thing, "Yeah, it just came in today". 3 times.

So I ordered the 05 ST and they told me it came with the hard bags. I talked to them 3 more times to confirm that this was the case as everyone else around here said that was bunk. Lo-and-behold it didn't come with hard bags. In their defense on this one they were just telling me what their Rep told them but you'd think they'd check again as I kept asking. They also sold me the bags for around their cost.

I just had the bags and heated grips installed (getting this scheduled was a major fiasco). I don't think the locks were installed correctly as I followed the instructions but the handle won't release so the bags can't be removed from the bike. I am going to go back next week and ask someone there to show me how it's done. If it works, I'm the idiot. If it doesn't...

They are only 5 minutes from my house (too convenient) so I have been giving them the benefit of the doubt each time. I have my first service coming up so if it doesn't go well this will be the last time.

One more thing. My buddy just bought a new SV650 there and was also left scratching his head on more than one occasion. I don't profess to know what it takes to run a dealership and don't claim to. However, sometimes it seems that these guys don't have their***** together.

UPDATE:

As far as the bags are concerned, I decided to fiddle with them and finally got the handle to release. The more I messed with it the better it got so my apologies to Hinds for assuming the worst.

I have no opinion on their maintenance department as I have no experience.
