Speedometer sensor sprint rs 2000

Hello, I have a problem with a speedometer (in front wheel) - I destroyed the magnetic ring which is inside. I dont know how it can happen .
The sensor (complete) is expensive and I have a question - is possible to buy a magnetic ring olny? Did anyone have a service manual with a spare parts list? What is the part number?

Thank you your help!

Ouch, thats rough. DEcosse can tell you for sure but ig I recall correct you trash the magnet you trash the sensor. I'm 50/50 on that though.

Check ebay cause I know there was one on there last week and it may still be there. They are the same from an RS and ST

Yes, break the magnet and you have to get the entire part from Triumph.
Ridiculous policy. On a Suzuki SV650, you can get replacement magnet alone for $18.

There was indeed one on EBay the other day I noticed.
(Edit: I see you're in Poland though - check EBay European sites)

Here are the ones on EBay US - you can maybe ask if they'll ship to Poland.
Speedo Drive #1
Speedo Drive #2
Speedo Drive #3

Incidentally the reason it happens is your wheel wa not installed properly - the little 'tangs' on the drive ring that floats in the wheel hub need to properly engage the detents in the magnet.

Did you or a service agent have the front wheel off recently?

I've done one of those!

DEcosse is correct you have to buy the whole part and I can tell you how it gets broken too.

It is a magnet and magnets get brittle with tyre changes if not careful with your speedo sensor it can get knocked and your magnets get busted.

In Australia to that part is about $405.00 and now with our exchange rate probably more.

I replaced mine under a 3 year extended warranty because it broke, but I have used 20 rear tyres and 14 front tyres in 61,000kms.

It still should not happen and should either be a stronger desing or a cheaper part.

I must sound like a broken record to my tyre guys as I always warn them as they are about to take the wheel off .

An ounce of prevention..........

Good luck ls_sandalos and welcome to the forum

Helo, I have caled to my local triumph dealer and he said that he think that ring should be possible to buy separately (about 15 US $, 2- 3 weeks waiting). I must go to dealer and look at his parts diagrams to confirm the part number. I hope he dont think about the steel ring which is inside wheel.

Thank You for help

I don't think you can buy that part separately.

I'm sorry to say for you, the magnet is absolutely NOT available as spare part - as you suspect, he is likely looking at the drive ring, item #3
Item 11, the speed sender, is a complete assembly and does not break out into any lesser components that you can purchase separately.
