Here is what I have been doing over the winter:

Bike torn down and stock air box taken out.

Pods put in:

Bikini Fairing put on:

Working on the bike is what keeps me from getting thoroughly depressed from the snow and cold.

winter blues

Well well well

I've read all these posts, with weather conditions ranging from comfortable to catastrophic, and here I am in a hotel, ten days out on the road, with a brand new Graphite ST sitting under cover in my garage that I've barely seen much less ridden....bring on spring!

Thanks for the photos. Helps while I sit and sit and and wait for my Sprint to be repaired (parts still on order).

Calliway, what's your secret for being able to work in an uninsulated garage at -21 C? I have tried and gave up. Frostbite and frozen wrenches is not fun.

Triple Ripple: A small space heater sitting right beside me, a down jacket and long johns under my jeans. When I am working I just wear Mechanics Wear gloves and my hands stay warm.

As far as the paint, that is all home grown. I took all the tins off and put them in the house for a few hours and then pinstriped them my self in the basement. I just redid the front headlight cowl so it doesnt look like that anymore. I put a simple red pinstriped oval on with a Triumph decal in the middle.

I have black low bars that should be hear any day now and a set of tank knee pads that I ordered three weeks ago..... I am picking up the rear seat cowl tomorrow at 11 and will plop that on as well.

I took out the factory airbox and put on pod air filters but still have to do the carb work but I need it to warm up a touch as my wife probably doesnt want me rebuilding carbs on the kitchen counter. Fair enough

Hah, I may live in the financially destitute People's Republic of California, but it's going to be 67 degrees(F) today. So, at least we can ride while the state goes bankrupt.

Well, I've been having the winter blues too, until today that is. The last couple of days here in sunny Colorado have been around 60, plenty warm enough. My only hesitation was the gravel plastered on almost every street. I was going to leave her in the garage till spring but I just had to take her out.

Calli, that pin stripe job is awesome, reminds me of a Vincent or Velocette or something.

Top job.

We have a friend visiting from Sydney so I took a day off and we took our friend down to Surfers Paradise for the day, had a great swim, the water was perfect.

I can't imagine what it would be like to live and work in such a cold climate...

Cheers,

Roden
