Gaspe Peninsula
Next Summer I plan on taking a ride to the Gaspe Peninsula. Does anyone have any riding experience there? Motels, campgrounds, restaurants, things to stop and see, speed traps etc.
Thanks Mick F

Hi Mick,
My friend did the trip not too long ago. I will check with him for advice. When do you plan to go as I am trying to figure out how I can put the Gaspé into a trip to the Miramichi as well (ideally when the salmon are running ).
Dave, The Gaspé peninsula is a terrific place for touring in Quebec. The ability to parlez en francias is a big help

Gaspe'
Hey,
I hope to go in late June when the days stay light the longest. I would like to go on to the Cabot Trail on the same trip. Work somehow gets in the way sometimes!
Now I have to say where is the Miramichi?

The Miramichi river is in New Brunswick. It has a world wide reputation for excellent Atlantic salmon fly fishing.

I did the north shore of the St. Lawrence last summer..from Montreal to Quebec City to the Charlevoix region. BEAUTIFUL riding!
I highly recommend it! I plan on doing it again next year, then taking a ferry from Tadoussac across the St. Lawrence to the south shore, then going to Gaspe.
If you need a riding buddy, lemme know!

C'mon Dave, You're a man of the world, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
I hitchhiked around Gaspe up to Newfoundland some years back and it is a beautiful area but quite remote in some parts. There were enough camping and feeding areas to keep me happy but I was roughing it.
The scenery is fantastic, the people are really friendly and it really helps if you can speak French as Triple Ripple says.

Did that 2 years ago, with friends of mine. Tadoussac and "Les éboulements" is a must. I do the whole North shore of the magnificient St-Lawrence E-VE-RY year. The Tadoussac portion was even showcase recently on the "Trippin' on 2 wheels" show on Speed TV. Some sceneries here are breathtaking, too bad, at the time. The only thing that truly s*cks here in Quebec, are some road conditions... you need a dual-purpose bike over here...
