Quest for fairing fasteners

Well I've had enough of paying £4 per fairing fastener on my ST, so I have begun a quest to find replacement parts. I've sent out a few mails to suppliers over here, but thought it would be useful to ask if anyone else has already solved this one!

So has anyone been successful?

The closest I got to our unusual fasteners is that Probolt do a screw on collar to match the shoulder on our ones, but they don't appear to do one that quite matches our size.

As far as I can work out, our fasteners are best described as

"stainless steel low dome head shoulder bolts" with the following dimensions...

The threaded portion is M5 x 15mm
The shoulder is 7mm Dia x 2mm
The head is formed from a 14mm dia x 1mm cylinder, with a dome of the same diameter and 2mm high.

If I get any joy with a supplier, I will probably have to buy a good quantity, rather than a couple-dozen that I need to replace my tired looking fixings. If I do have to buy in the 1000s, I'll sell them on eBay as sets!

Rexx

I take it these are for the 955 Sprint. Are they the same for 1050?

OK.....I realize it is nearing true winter....but, maybe we've been in the DVD collection a bit too much already, eh? Although it is a quest frought with peril, we shall prevail.

What a timely thread.

Those fairing bolts are a) numerous and b) a royal pain to get off.

Some quick fit types would also be a boon tome. Altough spares seems a good place to start!

These are relatively easy to find in the US. Don't know if they have dealers in the UK. Here are some examples.

I have bought several hard to find items from these guys, http://mdmetric.com/ , and they are remarkably efficient and well priced with small orders. They may ship overseas as well.
