I'm about 90% sure I'm going to be getting a '05 Speed Triple this weekend. But... I just got offered a deal on a Ducati Monster S4R. My biggest issue with Ducati is the maintenance costs.

What are the maintence cost/ schedule like on the Speed Triples?

12k valve service on the 955's, I guess the 1050's will be the same. And they typically don't really need adjusting that soon but that's by the book.

Cost is up to your local shop mostly. I've heard the '02-'04 motors are a little harder to work on as regards valves but I don't think it's anything like a Duc.

Get the S3. I was going to get an S4R. The service to adjust the valves is very expensive. Plus the S3 kicks it's A$$ in every catagory.

Blue. It's like Christmas (except that it cost me $10,000). Wow Christmas is expensive when you're an adult.

I saw the blue in the showroom when I was doing my 500 mi on my S3.
Very nice - I'm not a blue guy - but that was a nice sled in that color.!..might be better than in the "hit me silver" color - no??

good choice -- I really think the ST is a winner.

'course I think the new S3 is a winning killer stealth fighter too.!!
