I had Triumph's slip-ons installed before I picked my bike up and supposedly the map for em was downloaded, but....
It's extremely lean running. The exhaust note is glorius but she backfires like a ***** Gatlin gun.
Head pipes are DARK blue down to the second bend...What about yours?
I don't think it's actually running TOO hot, but, how many bars do you guys with new uns see when you're just cruising down the road? What's the highest reading you've seen under any circumstances?
If we can't get it sorted, then the stock pipes go back on.
I did the 12min tune thing.
thanks....btw....I LOOOVe the bike!

Just FYI, while riding down the road my temperature bars run between four and six across. Roughly half way across the spread. While sitting at a stop light the fan comes on at six bars or so.
My exhaust is factory and has gone a nice golden color from the exhaust ports to the end of the collector, with just a hint of blue/brown right at the head.
Of course, I only have 160 miles on the thing so far so this doesn't mean anything.
I hope you get it sorted out. Engine temperatures aren't what I'd be worried about. Instead, worry about burnt exhaust valves! I'd take it back to the dealer and have them check it. I don't think it's your new exhaust: possibly the wrong map got loaded?
Yeah, I love mine too. There's not enough hours in the day for work and enough riding. It's a good thing I'm single or my G/F would be just like the girl in the Triumph adds!

Rama,
A riding buddy has an 04 Triple with the factory slip ons with remap. It seems to be mapped lean also, backfiring etc. Although some say it's just the nature of the beast, but I don't think any bike should backfire that much.
Check with that Kulhka dude, he had his dyno tuned with a Tune Boy and I think they sorted the A/F ratio too. Maybe he got the backfire ironed out somewhat.
BTW the stock pipes burble on mine also. It's noticable on decel of course, but it's a pleasant angry sound, lower volume, and I like it.
As far as temps go, mine stays around 4-6 bars, and the fan is eager to come on at a stoplight too. The most I've seen is 7 bars, and the fan brings it back down quickly. I have no overheating issues though. I did check the coolant level when I first got mine and filled it up with a few more ounces because it was on the low side.
Good luck with the bike, I know you love it.

Very similar experience. Only 300 miles so far, but 4-6 bars with the fan coming on promptly at 6. Little bit of blue right next to the heads, but the pipes are mostly a lovely gold (almost matches the forks). I've got the stock pipes and they put out a wicked burble on decel. Sounds awesome, but it might be annoying unmuffled.

Rama,
Blue for the first 12 inches from the cyl head south. Then blue where the 3-into-1 collector is.
Aside from that, just yellow gold on the pipes.
Have fun my friend......the Triple is the cure all
