ERmax wind screen

Can someone comment on the effectiveness of the ERmax screen.

See http://www.frogspecialties.com/index.php?categoryid=59.

Already tried the fly screen, and added the laminar lip, but I'm still looking for improvements.

IMO, not the best looking flyscreen but i bet it'd do a lot better for wind protection than anything out there.

I fitted one of these screens to my 2008. It has cut down on wind blast and improved sustained high speed riding, but it is no touring fairing. I am glad I bought it though and like the look but that is my personal opinion.ERmax wind screen-ermax-screen-cropped.jpg

Where does it direct the wind? Does it blow above your face, or under your chin?

Mick,

Thanks for the input.

I'm mainly interested in something that reduces the turbulence when traveling at a fairly brisk pace. Cross country trips average around 65-85 MPH, and when combined with occassional headwinds gets tiresome while on a 8-10 hr. stretch.

Just looking for something to punch a hole in the air and take most of the wind off my midsection, like a sport bike fairing.

Do you have additional pics to share,..side views, close ups, etc?

Hi Jim,

Your reasons for wanting the screen are almost identical to mine. I would say it has definitely improved things and I don't have any regrets about buying it all. I do still experience windblast but it has made long rides considerably better.

I'll try and upload some more pics tonight but I'm out on the beer soon (not on Speedy) so may take a while. If you search this forum for Ermax screen I am sure you will find some pics and other peoples opinions.

Mick,
Sorry for the delayed response. I appreciate your comments and pics. Sounds like it's exactly what I want.
