am I too Big for a triple?

The other thread inspired me to ask... I am 6'4 and 225 lbs. I think that is 15 stones for you Brits. : )

I currently ride an 01 TT600. The bike is definitely too small for me. But it was a steal and it's what i'm riding. I'm considering all three of the 1050 bikes. I realize the Tiger will fit me best but I'm not sure I like the style. The ST may be a bit too much of an upright tour bike
for my taste. I do like the TT600... just wish it were a little bigger and newer.

I'm 6'2 and about 210 and I ride 06 S3 all the time. No problems here other than your boys getting squeezed into the tank constantly. Aftermarket seat may help that. I'll prob get a Sargent seat in the spring. May need to have the suspension set and/or upgraded if you notice issues there.

I'm 6'1 and 210lbs. I ride an 08 triple. And yes it will still do a power wheelie. The 08 is tall in the seat so that works good for me. I'm good for about 200 miles before starting to get stiff.

Go for it! The S3 is the most fun you can have with your clothing on!

What about luggage or two up? My TT600 is horrible with two up. My wife is slender
and sexy but the extra 125lbs just kills the TT.

As for luggage I can probably get by with a tailbag and tankbag...

I'm good for about 200 miles before starting to get stiff.

I normally start to get a bit stiff just before the front wheel touches down after the first set of traffic lights.

Unhappy

I'm 6'2"ish (mostly legs) and about 215 lbs, and I'm very comfortable on my '08 S3. It's a bit taller and longer than my '97 Buell Lightning that I upgraded from. Haven't put any luggage on it (just a small tank bag), and the lady rides her own bike, so haven't ridden two up either.

And a word from the not-so-wise... Don't practice your wheelies right after eating a big burrito. I romped on the gas, and the tank nailed me square in the belly, and then when I dumped the throttle I dropped my belly back down on the tank. Felt like blowing chunks afterward. Not very graceful.

I'm 6'5" & 112kg (about 245 lbs). My 08 is the best compromise between (some) comfort and performance that I could find. I don't have a gut though, probably helps that there is nothing in the way (except my nads to the tank as others have mentioned).

I looked at Hayabusas etc but as I always had jap sportbikes before I still wanted something that offered similar riding experience with a more comfortable position - speedy was it
