Bumpy Ride

I have what I think might be a somewhat unique problem with my Speed Triple. I have a 1997 T509. When I start it up from being cold, it will idle rather high (~1500 rpm) and I will have what seems like very little compression braking. The revs drop slowly when the throttle is off.

That is, until I hit a bump. If the bike is jarred enough, it will shut off and restart (still moving in gear) and then run fine. Though, it will start idling very low (~800 rpm).

Any thoughts? My mind is skewing towards idle air control valve, but I'm not sure.

Also, is their to be a hose coming off the fuel pressure regulator and connecting somewhere?
