Speed shift anyone?

Hi Crew,
Sorry if this topic has already been done..... but not real sorry!

The question is, do you think that up shifting without the clutch is really bad for the transmission?

I find myself speed shifting, putting pressure on the gear shift then doing a blip of the throttle to cut the torque. This causes the transmission to speed shift into the next gear. It greatly improves the blast-off effect! Downshift is with the clutch although I practice syncing the engine rpm's during downshift so as not to bounce the suspension. Good method of downshift for the track but practice on the street can only make you better.

Regards
Larry

I only do clutchless upshifts in higher rpms.
The wrist flick to lower the rpm makes it easier on the tranny.

I'm a nut for rev matched downshifts. I even do double declutch downshifts on my car to make it extra smoother! I'm still trying to get the timing down on my S3. It's not perfect yet!

Having your bike in the proper gear is a safety precaution too. You don't want to be caught in the wrong gear or even hanging in neutral!

I don't beleive it will cause any problems. I do it about 50% of the time on mine.

No worries, Just be smooth and precise with the shift.
