Urgent help needed, 05 Speed Triple due soon! Iam a vertically challenged rider,5ft 6ins. Has anyone experience with lowering rear suspension by about 1.5ins or 35mm? To give a seat height of 775mm.No problem with the front end as the forks can be dropped through the triple clamp. :hammer:

I'd just try it stock and set the sag properly. I'm a whopping 5'7.375" (after a full stretch first thing in the morning )
and I weigh 210. The suspension allows me to have both feet almost flat footed at a standstill, without any worries.

Good luck with the bike. You'll love it.

Kiwirider,

A little more info since we last talked about this. As delivered my S3 was too soft on preload up front, and to stiff at the rear. I think 3 lines showing on the forks, and ring about centered on the shock.

To get the correct sag at the rear I have about the same thickness as the jam ring remaining of threads showing.

For now I have left the front, may stiffen this half a turn.

All this lowered the ride height some. I can do one "ball of foot" now, vs one toe. This is enough for me.

I am 5'4" approx 175lbs, approx 28.5" inseam with Columbia hiking boots on.

I thought that I remember reading here that the bottom link from a Daytona was the same, and there are replacement links that lower a Daytona.

Hope this helps in some way.

the lower link is the same as the Daytona (well it has the same pt # stamped in it and looks identical)
I have been looking for a link to lower a Daytona and haven't found one. Do you recall where you have seen one?

I am a wee bit over 5' 6'' and cannot get the balls of my feet down on my 05 S3. Not comfortable with this and so am looking to drop the bike a fraction. I haven't played with the shock yet but figured that it would get me a little closer to the ground (being 250lbs will help with this). I would like to get to the point where I can easily get 1 foot down flat and be on the ball of my foot on the other leg.
