Rescue me- stranded

My '07 (with '06 ECU) S3 has asserted its British nature. Turned key to start this morning, lights came on, instrument cluster had no juice to it. Plenty of power in the battery, all lights and auxillary stuff works; no instruments, fuel pump, or starter. Pulled and cleaned plug from instruments, disconnected and reconnected battery, checked all fuses, and made sure all relays were secure (couldn't check function). No joy. Any ideas? I mean, any ideas related to my problem. Had to catch a ride to work with the wife, and I'm here at the fire station for the next 24 hours...

In neutral, kickstand up, clutch in, kill switch in run position, check all those interlock switches.

Would the interlocks prevent the instrument cluster from getting power? I mean, there is no juice to the cluster at all: no backlight, no warning/neutral/highbeam/oil pressure lights, no ECU noise, no jumping needle...just dead. But all the other stuff works; lights/highbeams, turn signals, even the horn.

How did you check that there was plenty of power in the battery? Charge it anyway and try again. The speedy seems to be very sensitive to that.

Sounds like I need to get in line for a STOOPID award...but I can't find out for another 20 hours. I never touch the kill switch, but my helmet might have hit it while I was pushing the bike out of the garage and down to my son's schoolbus stop. We'll find out.

Thank you gentlemen.

(Battery is being charged while I'm at work.)

x 2 for the kill switch.

I did exactly the same thing last week - realised before I started to pull things apart luckily . I never use it either so had me stumped for a bit

You can add me to the stupid fiel too!

I purchased a damaged speedy with no dash - bought one from Ebay France and wauted 2-weeks. Plugged it in - lights etc were fine but no power to the dash!

I thought I'l spent $600 on a dead dash and got ripped off - called several mates with no luck and pulled the tank and airbox off to look for a disconnect cable

Then I flicked the kill switch and presto!!!!!!!

So your not the only one

Doh! I just love embarassing myself in front of people with common interests whose opinions I respect, by and large. The kill switch was in fact depressed inadvertently while moving the bike under foot power. Fired right up this morning. There's a reason why I generally read and not post...because most of my "problems" are caused by user error, not mechanical faults. I am eating crow, and you may fire at will.

Thank you for your help and the empathetic words from our brothers Down Under.

The wife is cackling in the kitchen.
