Storage and carrying stuff?
Just wondering what people are using for storage on the S3's?
Any good tail bags, or saddle bag systems out there?
I saw an S3 with a small rack on the back, but can't find it
again.
Thanks

I've got the 'Icon Primer Pack' tank bag, but noticed the magnets trying to scratch my paint. So I flipped it 180°, and put it on the tail of my '08 Speed Triple and the D-rings line up very well with the small nylon loops tucked under the seat. Just find some small carabiner type clips to attach and remove quickly.
Not a lot of storage for long trips. But ample for running around town.
For my registration and insurance papers, I just use a small plastic container and stash it under the seat.

I think I like Racepack by Bags Connection best... It is on my buy list, probably next year will be mine.

This topic surfaces every once in awhile, and with good reason, since carrying capacity is one of the few weaknesses of the Speed Triple. The other? It turns itself filthy in 5 yards of rainy roads - but who's quibbling?
In any case, I have a Triumph tank bag that works fine. For the rear I used to use the Triumph "T-handle" accessory bar for strapping things too, which worked well. Finally I moved up to the Ventura rack system, which works great - a small luggage rack that can face backwards or forwards with a small loop, and that loop can be exchanged for a taller one where a large backpack thingie slides down over it. For three day 1,000 mile weekend trips it is terrific.
For camping, or trips of three weeks.... I have seen it done, but not by me!

I use a Luggage Locker tank bag (Tank Locker), and I have one of their tailbags as well (Elite Seat Sak). I like a lot that the tank bag doesn't touch paint at all. The tank bag itself isn't huge, but I just picked up an expansion pack for it (Stack Pak), and I've weekended with it a couple of times. The only drawback is that the mounting ring on the gas tank isn't exactly beautiful, but if you really worried about it, it comes off with a couple of bolts. The tail bag is pretty nice, but I find I don't use it as much as the tank bag, because the tank bag is so easy to pop off the bike and take with you... www.luggagelocker.com. The owner is a nice guy and rides. I think they have sort sort of an incentive program to reward people for recommending their product to others, but I'm not signed up for it, so I have no financial interest in their products.

SW-MOTECH tank mount and two sizes of tank bag (I have the plastic tank). For the rear, I was using the Racepack. Since I have the stock high mounts, it did sit within an inch of the exhaust and I got in the habit of checking each time I parked.
I ended up buying some zen rails and going back to my Cortech saddlebags/tailbag set. The zen rails were too wide for the Racepack, which is a shame because I prefer the Racepack. The total storage area may be the same as other saddlebag/tailbag combos, but having the storage in one compartment means larger items.
If you have lower mounting exhaust, you have more possibilities.
Bohdan, I have a used Racepack that I will be selling soon...holler if you are interested. Functionally, it is excellent, but it is quite faded as it was outside on my bike while commuting. I would be willing to discount quite a bit

Thanks all!
I realy like the luggage locker with the tail lights on it.
I go to work at 3:00 AM so every bit helps at that hour.
I wonder if I could put my old tank bag on the seat...untill I find what I want.

I'm using an Alpinestars tank bag. You can also upzip it and use it as a back pack. I've logged thousands of miles with it, and love it.

Built in map pocket, rain cover, etc.
Here is a pic with it on the bike
