Changing front and rear brake levers

Hey Guys

Just need some advice. I am not a mechanical genuis but fairly competent.

Checked out the manual but before I start... but

I am replacing both my brake levers, got rear ended last week and bended them badly.
Changing clutch and engine cover on my 12k service as they are only a little screwed.

Question,
1. Does removing these levers mean that i need to bleed brake lines
2. Are they easy to change?
3. Are stock items the best thing to replace with or are others
worth spending a little more money on?

NB. Moral of the story is do not stop at red lights, car drivers are blind, especially ones that ride bikes at weekends only!

Kind Regards
Jim
