Help to identify this S3

Hi new guy here.
I'm a potential S3 owner. When I do research about >= 2002 S3, I see this pics in http://www.motorbikestoday.com/revie...eed_triple.htm
and notice that it had some sort of "paint job". Is this standard?
I can't imagine they send him a customize bike...

Can anyone shed a light on this? Thanks

Nelson

Go to the Triumph website and you can get this years body work. It is in red and all checkered up like that.

How?
I try to look into Triumph website and don;t know how to do it.
So is that mean this is a custom paint job as provided by Triumph factory?

Triumph provide a painted tank and body panels, it used to be on an exchange basis, via your local dealer, I`m sure its still the same. You have to bring your old tank and bodywork in and they have to be in good condition. A mate of mine has the 'Tribal' custom paint job on his Rocket 3. Expensive, but it looks great.

Thats an older S3 in the pics, i don`t rember the chequered flag option for S3`s in the paint kits, I thought it was just for Daytonas?

That is an old article. When I bought my 2002 speed triple I had the custom chequered flag option which would have cost an extra $2500 if I can remember correctly. That bike in the picture is obviously just to show what you can buy for the speed triple as the bike is fitted with all the factory accessories.

check out this site.

Quite pricey... Luckily, when I bought my S3 second hand, it already came with the pieces.
