New member with a new (to me) Speed Triple

Hi everyone... I just registered here since last night's acquisition of a 1995 Speed Triple. It's not a show bike, but it's pretty clean for a thirteen year old bike.

It seems to run very well but I have really just shot around the neighborhood a little. A speeding black bike with no license plates is bound to draw attention!

I have already id'd a few things it will need over the winter like fork seals and a carb inspection (fuel leaks into the crankcase if the petcock is left on too long while not running) and a new front tire.

I have been on bikes for years but this is my first sportbike. I have pretty much been an American old iron rider. My first bike was a 1941 Indian. I have owned several HDs and am now just finishing a ground up on a 1948 Indian Chief. Never had to crank into position like I do on the S3 before this.

Not looking to get too crazy. I'm 47 and I have managed to get this far without my front tire off the ground for too long at a time. I don't imagine that'll change much but having that power sure is a hoot!

Y'all have a great day!

and a new owner to new owner hello
:

that bike sure looks purdy, I wanted black but settled for F-U orange
Triumph calls it blazing orange but my kids called it an F-U orange......I tend to agree with my boys.
Anyway congrats on the purchase.

Greetings for the 2 Newbies

Welcome to the Hooligan Horde!:
whichever Generation S3 you own these bikes seem to get under your skin, and you find yourself having more fun (on a bike) than you thought possible.

welcome!

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the RAT pack! My 00 S3 is my third Hinckley Triumph and it's my favorite. My front tires spends almost all of its time on the ground, too, by the way...
