Gimmie Some Ideas!

You can call this market research.... Let's pretend that I have a business with the ability to manifacture anything. I am a Speed Triple fan and I want to start making aftermarket parts for one of our favorate bikes. Now let's say I want to use my resources to make some kick ass stuff that you can't go out and buy right now. I'm asking for some ideas on a custom parts, not yet invented, long distant comfort or improvments to an original part, what you would like to see made or improved but is not yet avaliable to you. Do you have any suggestions about what you would like to have no matter how odd? This bike is a cult classic! For anyone to make parts specifically for this bike would not likely make them a millionare because this bike does not have a huge market. I just think that as far as what is offered by the aftermarket that a bike owner is severely limited on how he can modify his Speed Triple and make it different from everyone elses. My bike is like your bike whether you like it or not. From the showroom floor or after passing through the Triumph cataloguge they not that much different if at all. What would you like to put on your bike without having to fabricate parts youself or pay a million $ to get it. Thanks!

I would really like an aluminum chain gaurd that will protect the underside of the bike from lube fly-off while still being open on the outer vertical side to allow easy lubing of the chain. I am making a prototype out of the stock chaingaurd, but it would be more structurally sound and nicer looking if it was machined (or simply bent) out of aluminum. I don't have those capabilities at the moment Sort of like http://www.newspeed3.com/html/chain_guard.html but without a lot of the sidewall, and I think it could be made available for a lot less than $100.

And a luggage rack for the back of 08-09. I think the 07 racks may fit with some modification or an adapter, but I havent been able to get my hands on any yet.

speedy chainguard

I agree. The chain on this thing is a pain in the ass to lube properly.

Dear Santa Claus, I have been a good boy and this Xmas I would like...

A plug-n-play gear indicator or better still, one that is integral to the dashboard, like the Daytona 675.

Some different master cylinders, possibly similar to Rizomas, small and preferrably colour matched.

Carbon fibre fuel tank, full bodywork and wheels. My local c/f manufacturer (Geelong Carbon Craft) has made a tank and wheels for a Rocket 3 out of c/f, as a one off but it cost almost as much as a new Speed triple.

Small plug-n-play turn signals that can actually been seen by other road users in the daytime and don`t need extra relays.

A slipper clutch.

Bar end mirrors that work as well as the standard ones.

How about a cheaper priced version of the gauge/headlight relocator that GSG-moto sells? You know that pulls the healights in closer to the forks, and lowers the gauge cluster so it doesn't seem to be sticking out there in mid-air.

That would be a simple think to make. I for one would buy that if it were cheaper than the $210 GSG one.

A decent-looking flyscreen, more along the lines of the Rocket III's. The stock crushed-bat hat just doesn't cut it for a lot of people. A gauge relocator bracket, to go with it.
