Question S3 for a fat man?

I am 260 and 6 foot. I currently ride an 05 FZ-1 but fell in love with the '08 S3.

Any fat riders out there care to comment?

S3

Well, I'm 6' 2" and 260, and love my 07 speedy. The only change that I have made was to order a Ohlins rear shock sprung to my weight and riding style from Kyle racing. The stock setup was just not cutting it. If the Ohlins is a little to much $$$ for you, you can put on a new spring and revalve it. The next thing is to replace the front springs. They are OK, and I can live with it for now, but it's on my list of mods. Have someone who is good with suspensions help you set your bike up. You might be suprised by how much that will change the feel of the bike. I think that the stock suspension is set up for a 180lb rider give or take a little bit. Hope this helps you out a little

I went through that with the fizzy. I had the rear shock revalved and resprung and it was night and day difference. The front now feels inadequate.

Thanks for the feedback!!

6ft, and 245. Other than shock and springs the bikes just fit right. Designed by Anglo's not Asians! (a size thing)

ps That's sprint st, trophy, and now a daytona 1200

6' 1" and ~260 here and my '07 is great. As others have said it's a little soft, but works for me until I can afford to redo the suspension.

I am 5' 11" and over 260 with an 07 S3. It did pretty good for me stock. But, I did purchase an Ohlins sprung for my weight. OMG what a difference. I love my bike. Always have. Always will

I am 6'2", and when I bought Speedy (two years ago yesterday) I was 280+. Now I am 220-225ish, and it is a lot of fun either way!

I weigh about 220. The Speed Triple will stomp all over the FZ-1 at low rpm's where you need them. That FZ-1 has a terrible midrange. We can't cruise at the FZ-1's 11k rpm to make it fun.
