Having not been to the US yet, I can't argue with that! Here we have the road repairs allocated by local Councils, none of which seem to do their job. Unless of course, wasting public money and ignoring the public's desires and opinions, IS doing their job.

Having worked at a Harley Dealership and riding/ owning a Harley, as well as my beloved S3, I can safely state that most "new age" Harley riders don't even realize what they are riding. Look on your parts rack the next time you are at your local friendly Harley dealer and you will notice most of the parts are made in Taiwan.... I know, I used to sell them.... I bet there's more USA made parts on my 2006 S3 .... j/k really, but you get my point... It's sad to say, Is anything really American made anymore? I live in PA next to the York, PA Harley sportster plant, and I know all the big twin motors are made in Milwaukee,, etc... so money is flowing through good ole USA, but seriously check it out the next time you are at a dealership... Where are most of those parts manufactured.... Use that argument the next time a weekend warrior gives you crapola about owning another bike. All in all I have gotten mostly "as long as it doesn't say Kawasaki on the tank, or Yamaha"...... I love Harley, I love inline-4's... I've owned them... I love all bikes with no prejudice... I guess I'm a motorcycle connoisseur and that's the way I like it. Most of all I'm glad I own something different from the rest of the t-shirts in the crowd.

I beg to differ, ashmanr1...the parts I have seen are made in China, not Taiwan.

I wave. The Harley guys usually don't return it.

Frankly, with gas prices, there are so many new riders and riders who have pressed their machine into more than Saturday afternoon service, I see a lot of blank stares but no waves. I think they are trying to figure out if they know me.

That and spying on their citizens, going through their bins, using hi-tech anti-terrorist surveillance to make sure parents aren't trying to get kids into schools that can actually teach, sneaking around to see if your house is nice enough to raise your taxes etc. etc.
