Question Polish question

Every once in a while I polish the exhaust gas stains of the end of my TORS cans (2006) with some Autosol polish. What I want to know is whether there is a coating to the stainless steel that I will eventually polish through or can I keep polishing with impunity.

Keep polishing, its not coated, its solid stainless. They even have paste polish that makes working with the stainless easier at most auto parts places.

Alright...How many Polish people does it take to polish through the stainless layer on the stainless exhaust cans?

Just one, but he'll bring his whole bloody family with him.......and then you'll never get rid of him.

Cleaning question

I'll throw a different angle at this. Getting things nice and shiney is great, but how about the step before (getting them "clean").

Anything special you use for removing all the fun things that tend to accumulate on your ride over time? I use to have a huge issue with the tree over my parking space dripping this annoying sap that was **** stubborn in coming off.

Happily for me the tree got sick and it ended up being cut down, but before that I tried a bunch of stuff before being told that Isopropyl alcohol works (and for sap, it works great). It's cheaper than the commercial stuff too, but I'm a bit worried about trying it on anything other than glass or meta. There's a lot of other things it doesn't work so great on too, like your usual combo of grease and all the other fun stuff you pick up while on the road or on the curb.

Any suggestions or stories to share?

Try to find "Bug and Tar Remover". Works on my car when I have it parked near pine trees at my place. Also gets rid of those baked on bugs. Haven't ever had any issue with it harming the finish, but I apply it and remove it right after.
