'08 "must have" factory accessories
So, after lurking for a while... I'm considering taking the plunge on an '08 S3. Before I do, I was curious what (if any) the consensus on "must have" factory accessories was.
Also, any GOOD impressions of the local Utah dealer out there?
TIA

Reason: seems there are a few impressions, just all bad

OK here goes, my personal opinion and what I went for:
1) Arrow three-into-one low pipe (this is almost a must-have IMHO)
2) Fly screen
3) Pillion seat cover in suitable matching colour
4) Rear hugger (carbon)
5) Carbon effect tank protector
6) Black replacement bars (I believe you get updated bars on the '08 anyway)
7) Low
Non-Factory bits that I really like
1) Pazzo racing levers (wouldn't have a bike without them now)
2) Tuneboy ECU mapping
3) R&G tail-tidy (you guys call them Fender Eliminators I believe)
4) R&G crash bungs
That's about it.

OS14, pm sent....
Short answer, IMO the "factory" part is questionable...
Exhaust w/remap
CRG bar-end mirrors
Tank pad (I've seen bikes without this and the finish gets dulled/scratched very quickly, looks like s**t)

My "must haves"
Functional-protection:
Hugger (the more coverage the better)
Bar-end mirrors, mine are Rizoma Reverse Retros
Engine sliders. Sky King, LSL, GSG
Engine covers by GSG
Better headlight - Hella, Adjure
Triumph Carbon tank protector, 3M, others
Radiator protector - Mikes Grilles, others
Functional-comfort/ergos:
Pazzo shorty levers
Rearsets - I have Rizoma
Heated grips if you ride year-round
Aftermarket seat - Sargent, Corbin, custom
Other add-ons I have, not necessarily "must haves":
Pipes - Chain Reactions, many others
Tuneboy
Tail Tidy - Skyking, others, DIY
Different handlebar - Rizoma, others
LED signals - Kellermann, others

Wow, what about just riding it as is and go from there? See what suits you with your riding style.
I did mirrors to see behind better, and a tank pad to keep the tank from getting so scratched. I also did frame sliders for piece of mind. But none of those were "must have" IMO.
Enjoy it!!!

In defense of the OP, he did say "factory" accessories, so I would assume he wanted to get them up front and roll them into the loan.

I figure if we give responses as "our" must haves, then a consensus will become obvious. It will take time. Incidently, from my list, the Triumph branded items are the hugger and the tank protector.

Thanks for the replies, especially the he heads-up on the tank paint. Seems to be a common statement.
Goffe, is the stock lamp trash? This is the first I've seen of someone replacing one, other than for cosmetic.
I know everyone has a style that they look for, or try to make. I'm more curious as to which of the typical mods/accessories were done to alleviate some shortcoming of the bike.
Thanks again, and keep em comin!
