Where is the ECU?

Very quick question: as per the title, can anyone tell me where the ECU is on my S3 O7 please?

Thanks

Neil

Under rear part of fuel tank at the very front of the plastic tub inside the subframe. Lift tank off and it's obvious.

OK so how easy is it to get to I guess is the more important question. Does the back part of the tank just lift up?

(Sorry I haven't got access to my bike at the moment).

Tank does not pivot, if that is what you ment. Remove all 4 bolts holding tank & lift it completely off.

BTW why do you need physical access to the ECU? You are aware that all ECU remapping etc. happens via service connector next to battery, right?

Ah....lol....no I didn't know that....that makes life a little easier :-)

Is the service connector obvious? i.e. is it USB or similar?

Thanks for all the help Martin, it's really appreciated!

Yes.

It's the only connector under seat that is not connected to anything. Wide SCART-TV connectorlike piece _without_ blanking plug. If you have an ODB reader or Tuneboy, it's the only plug that matches your connector cable.

Thanks Martin, this is great info.

When I get home I'll have a go at doing the Tuneboy update, hopefully this will iron out some of the flat spots and low-speed lumps and bumps.
