battery woes

my temp gauge was loading up (all ten bars) in the mornings- not all the time. finally found out it(supposedly) was the battery. i guess when the battery starts to go bad,"funny things " can happen what with all the new fancy stuff . i mention this because even though my bike started just fine(exept for when the temp bars lit up,causing a different gas mixture because the fan would come on and i guess the brain tells it to do so). the point is that i have heard guys talk about batteries and gauges and well batteries can really be a bummer. anyone know of a battery that works best in our S3's?

I have heard of good luck with Yuasa, if handled properly. No bumping or dropping the battery. Charged properly, etc.

Had good results with stock sealed Yuasa (always charge it up myself before install)...

battery

i also ment to mention that i have heard guys here talk alot about there s3 gauges and batteries doing goofy or confusing things. is this an issue with our S3's? or should i say, it doesnt seem uncommon that a new battery could start to go bad after one year...??

Properly maintained battery should last at least 3 years. Most problems mentioned here were caused by bike sitting in crate for long time and not charged properly by the dealer before delivery. This is always bad for a battery.
If you get new one, it is usually factory charged -check the date on it, it should be within month or two. Put it on charger for day or two before installing on bike. Install with the pigtail for charger and periodically recharge (keeping it on Battery Tender all the time you do not ride is best). This should assure worry free battery life.
