My first Triumph

Hi all, First of all thanks to all that have been so helpful in all these threads of info.
I have in the past stayed with Japan bikes as they have become so reliable and fast. the dealer out here asked me to take out the green speed triple out and tell him what I think. Well a week later I bought it. Its not as Fast as my old 1997 TL1000 which i still have or my buddies 1125R but it sure huggs the road and handles like no other I really find the comfort and ease of ride.
My Question I was wondering if the rear sprocket will just unbolt and slip over the black hub or drive unit Im thinking 2 more teeth might make me smile more,
Who has done this and would you mind telling me what you think!

Thanks

You haven`t said which model Speedy you have??? I`m guessing that you have bought an older 955, as the 1050 is quicker than the TL 1000 R and S. If you have a 1050 it`s probably best not to lower the gearing, it`s hard enough to keep the front wheel on the floor as it is!

What he said. Also, swapping out the front sprocket with -1 tooth might be easier and will gain similiar results.

Your Speedy is only running on 2 cylinders if your TL is faster.

Regardless, the green S3 is the fastest, most powerfullest bike in the world!

Have any of you rode a '97 TL1000S? That is one very powerful bike, my friend had one and also a '99 955i Daytona which on paper have very similar horsepower, torque and wieght but ride them back to back and you would find the TL to have a more aggressive power delivery. I never rode a streetbike that I was fighting to keep the front end on the road as much as that bike. So many people wrecked the '97 TL's that they restricted them in '98 so they were a little more civil. My friends bike was the only one sold at that dealer that survived that year all the other ones proved too much for the people that bought them. Of course most of the other people that bought them traded in 600 fours and tried to ride the TL the same way they rode the fours.

Buddy of mine had a TL1000R. That was one evil bike. Pulled like a banshee. By far the nastiest bike I've ever seen as far as brute force. He had Yosh slip-ons too. Too bad he sold it.
