Here's a pic of my ventura kit on my 07 Speedy on the way to the Island last year. You can also turn the rack around over the pillion seat to keep weight inboard if you like.

Don't know how it will go on an 08 though - sorry

Regardless, I have it on my 2008 right now and it fits fine. I bought it through the US distributor cycle venture.
So you are saying you have the 07 rack bolted up on your 08? Any pics?

Thanks,
Dustin

Hope this isn't a thread hijack!

I am not sure what "year model" equipment I have. I simply called cycle venture and said I want L brackets and pack rack to fit on 08 Speed Triple. What showed up fit the bike. I cannot 100% confirm that I could take this off and put it on an 05-07 bike. I do not have pics to post, sorry. Appearance wise, it looks just like the pics that have already been shown. At the front, the 2 bars mount to the inside of the two passenger foot pegs. Then at the rear, they mount to the inside of the exhaust hanger mount.

I believe the part number she sent me for my 2008 was "T028" for the L bracket. The pack rack was the "18 series". I was able to re-use my old grab handle with part number "GH12/18". If in the US, just call cycle venture and tell them what bike you have. They should send the right equipment. I have since lost the image, but cycleventure has an image under the bike showing how it mounts, or you can ask and they will send you the installation instructions so you can see how it mounts before purchase.

One note, you will have to modify a bit if you have the arrows dual slip ons. On the arrows, the nuts for the exhaust hanger bolts are nicely welded to the bracket. That way you do not need to use a wrench and a socket to tighten that bolt. A nice feature. But sadly, the L bracket needs to mount between that nut and the mount. It needs to go where there is a weld. I used a die grinder to cut the weld around the nut and pop it off the bracket. Then I just bought two new nuts from the hardware store. If you have the OEM fat chrome cans you are fine. The nut that holds that exhaust hanger bolt is not attached to any bracket. So all you need do to install there is remove that inside nut, sandwich the L bracket tab against the mount, and re-install the nut. If you ask for the instructions, you will understand better.

So it looks like the horizontal part of the rack itself is easy enough to remove. How difficult is it to remove the part that actually attaches to the bike? I think it'd be handy to have for longer trips, but not sure I'd want it on there hanging off the back all the time ...

That's always been my issue as well.

I actually did a little searching last night and someone else indicated it takes ~10 mins to remove, which doesn't sound too bad. Maybe someone else can chime in and verify that.

I can't confirm or deny, but I can present another scenario. I wondered the same thing about removal until I saw it installed and... I .... like the looks better with it on!
To me it makes the bike look more finished and more capable. I leave on the smaller of the two uprights, of course, and if I need more storage than the tank bag - which I often do, a small tail bag will strap right on. I save the tall one and the big pack for longer trips - like the 1000 miler coming up.

I think it looks cool! Of course, my taste is a little weird, but yours might be as well!

Well, I'll just have to see it in person.

All you do is reverse it so the rack is over the pillion seat. Then it's there for anytime you want it, without it hanging off the back.

If you don't like the look, it is to lock nuts and 2min to remove the rack. The L-Bars that mount from the rear footrest brackets (under the seat) are semi-permanent.
