07 s3 tuneboy tunes and engine noise

Ok, i have a 07 s3, plastic tank, mivv gp carbon exhaust, pre cat removed, plus many extra addons. I also just installed tuneboy and wondering if anyone has, or knows of a sweet tune for my same bike. Also, I have about 1200 miles on my bike. I have heard that triumph engines are noisy, but mine has some faint valve noise chatter and whrrrrrring after the bike is nice and warm. I can even hear it with my full face helmet on at about 35 - 45 mph. After that the wind and exhaust noise over powers it. My dad has owned triumphs all his life and says that triumphs engines have always been noisy. Just wanted to check with anyone that has been experincing the same thing. If anyone can help me with these issues, I would be very happy. I love the thing so so much, I just want to make sure that it is tuned properly, and that nothing is wrong with it. thanks.

esoe- I also have an 07 with the mivv gp lowmount and as far as tunes go, I had the dealership put the arrow lowmount gp tune in. It works far better than the TORS (TORS had a lot of loud and heavy backfiring), but recently it has started to backfire again and am not sure why?? I will probably be posting about it sometime soon. If you find a good custom tune for the Tuneboy, let me know.
As far as engine, mine ticks at idle and is noisy. I can hear it until the wind and the pipe drown it out. My engine also makes a metal grinding type of noise while under heavy acceleration, but I was told that is normal too, so who knows. I still love the bike despite the loud engine. Later man.

I posted the below on the exhaust thread:

'Whether I run mine baffles in or out, ever since the Arrows have been fitted I get an annoying clatter/loose noise at certain revs/speed - generally 18-60mph when just jogging along without putting on the power - as soon as you power up it is not so noticable.

It's been back to the dealer who says it is exhaust resonance & confirm that they did retuned it when the Arrows were fitted and say it is just one of those things.

To get a comparison, I took out their test bike which has the same Arrows and it didn't clatter and popped far more on decel.

Is it usual 1) the clatter/exhaust resonance, 2) different S3 different exhaust effects - Any ideas?'

It seems I'm experiencing a similar sound and from your comments that these noises occur but I find them annoying as with the stock cans, I almost certain this resonance didn't occur.

I have an 05 S3 and I do have some noise. There is the whirring noise, and some rattley noise at idle. I do not have any valve noise when running at any speed. But just about all motorcycle engines have some noise because of the 7th law of thermodynamics, "Loose is Fast"

THe popping noises in the exhaust are from the SAI system. I blocked off the SAI line that goes into the air box. So the SAI valve still turns on and off but there is no air, so there is no popping, and no check engine light on. I believe the arrow tune is a race tune, and the SAI is turned off by the ECU.

The tuneboy works absolutely great. it is very easy to change the maps, and they have a good selection of maps that really work. I would find the map that most clossely fits your setup and go from there.

MY 05 has excellent power, and super smooth delivery. I do not believe that there is a better map for mine then the one I installed. I do not know what works best on an 07 but you should have little trouble finding one that works spendid.

Talking 07 s3 tuneboy tune 20211 mivv gp exhauxt

ok thanks for the info. I am no longer worried about the engine noise. As far as tunes go, I just installed the tuneboy arrow tune with sai (20211) as I have not yet removed or pluged it. The funny thing is that my bike no longer pops or backfires on decel anymore. Wasn't expecting that. runs very smoth and the idel is at about 1000 rpm now. almost too low. The only wierd thing that I have noticed is when I am in neutral or the clutch pulled in and at idel and I blip the throttel just a littel I hear like a strange noise like a valve or something poping shut. It only happens once every time i blip the throttel and it happens right befor the rpms increase. again, only at idel. maybe its because the idel is set to low, or maybe it is the sai solonoid opening or closing. Thats what I think it sounds like. It might also be a little to lean at idel. while riding though, no noise. just removed the baffel too, and holy ****, sounds mean. i have heard that removing the baffel can result in loosing some lower end torque, but I can't really notice a diff. Still interensted in some custome tuneboy tunes for an 07 triple with mivv carbon gp exhaust, precat removed. thanks

My 06' w/ TORS tune and pipes makes no odd noises at idle or otherwise.

There has never been any grinding or rattling noises - you guys may want to check things out.

I can barely hear the valves tapping away - ever-so-slightly - but that's normal for all inline engines that I have owned as there are make valves in a row
