Motul is more like a degreaser - petro based, not naptha or tolouene (sp?) based. In other words, it doesn't dry - it'll stay a little oily. It works great but def. costs more than cheapy brake cleaner. But, seriously, over the life of a chain, we'd be looking at an additional cost of maybe 30 bucks, so I'd stick with the stuff made specifically for mc chains.

Thanks. I ask because being an auto mechanic I get brake clean for free.

But at the same time, if brake clean will mess up the o rings then I would use the correct stuff.
