Steering Dampener options

I know Triumph of WI has a steering dampener for the speed 3. What else is out there? Has anyone done a Scott's dampener?

There is LSL and Matris. I have no experience with LSL but I do have the Matris. You can get them through PJ's parts. Do a search in the forum and you will get more information.

LSL and Matris seem to be used most frequently on here.

Which Matris do you have? How do you like it? Is this your 1st experience with an after market dampener? I am thinking i might buy a scott's and fab it up. I have experience with them and know they are a quality product.

I cannot remember the exact model but I believe it is the M4R. It has the red dial and black body. I like it a lot. Fits real well and has made the bike more steady in the twisties. Quite a few others have bought them and like them too.

Is it the general consensus that a steering damper is needed on the S3 or is it done just as a precaution, or for racing purposes? Just curious.

Yes, I would also like to know this... On my testride I noticed NO [edit: had a typo here] unpleasant headshaking or nervousness even under moderate accelleration.

98% poser value only, in my opinion.

Stock 1050 with a correctly torqued headstock bearing + correctly set up suspension is not prone to over-nervousness or tankslappers at all.
